GCFC Highlights Transition Finance Partnerships for Africa at London Climate Action Week
GCFC was pleased to join the Transition Finance Convening organized by the International Forum for Sovereign Wealth Funds, during London Climate Action Week – opened by Rachel Kyte, the UK’s Special Representative for Climate and Development.
We led a session on “Building Transition Finance Partnerships for Africa,” drawing on lessons from the Africa Green Investment Initiative (AGII). The discussion emphasized the need for coordination across the project lifecycle – from early-stage developers to DFIs and risk mitigation partners – to unlock capital at scale.
We were glad to see active engagement from GCFC and AGII partners, including Africa50 Group and Infinity Power , all aligned around the need for practical, country-led financing solutions to support just and inclusive transitions.
Special thanks to Ninety One for hosting the event.
