History/Inception
Its conception and creation was made in partnership with key institutions – ADGM, ADQ, BlackRock, CIFF, GFANZ, HSBC, Masdar, Ninety One, and the World Bank – with the aim to transform global climate finance and position the UAE as a premier hub for climate investment.
As a registered independent entity operating at the public–private interface, GCFC aims to scale and accelerate climate finance transactions. It works with local, regional, and global partners to build a comprehensive climate investment ecosystem in the UAE ranging from regulatory support to back-office services while developing in-house capabilities to address market gaps.
GCFC serves as a single window for climate businesses and investors, with a strong focus on the Global South and advancing COP28’s legacy.
