GCFC and Abu Dhabi Department of Energy Launch 2026 UN Water Conference Consultations
GCFC launches first consultation for the UN 2026 Water Conference , in partnership with the Department of Energy Abu Dhabi (DoE)
Today, GCFC convened a high-level roundtable during the World Utilities Congress, marking the first official consultation for the 2026 UN Water Conference, where GCFC will lead the finance track in close coordination with the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The session was officially opened by H.E. Abdulla Ahmed Balalaa, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Energy and Sustainability, whose keynote remarks underscored the strategic importance of mobilizing finance and partnerships to achieve national and global water goals.
Held in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy, the session brought together senior voices from finance, utilities, industry, and innovation to identify priority actions to accelerate water technology deployment and investment pathways in the UAE.
The roundtable also marked the signing of a formal MoU between GCFC and DoE, laying the foundation for a long-term partnership to help the UAE meet its 2030 water targets and shape a compelling contribution to the global agenda on water and climate.
