GCFC held the second Steering Committee meeting of the Africa Green Investment Initiative (AGII), chaired by H.E. Abdulla Balalaa

Today we held the second Steering Committee meeting of the Africa Green Investment Initiative (AGII), chaired by H.E. Abdulla Balalaa, Assistant Minister for Energy and Sustainable Affairs, UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

AGII is mobilizing $4.5B by 2030 to deploy 15GW of clean energy and drive Africa’s green industrialization – with over 60 projects across 21 countries already in motion.

The discussion focused on unlocking capital and accelerating project pipelines. Masdar (Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company), AMEA Power, Etihad Credit Insurance (ECI) , Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, and Africa50 Group also explored how to contribute to the UN Water Conference 2026, to be hosted in the UAE.
