Innovate for Climatech (I4C) is a coalition launched by the COP28 Presidency and hosted by the Global Climate Finance Centre.
is Simple:
To ensure climate finance leads to the real-world deployment of climate technologies, especially in the places that need them most.
While GCFC works to shape financial frameworks for large-scale climate action, i4C bridges that work with the practical needs of innovators, ecosystems, and adopters across the Global South.
We connect stakeholders facing similar challenges across different markets, creating opportunities for collaboration and scaling.
- UAE Working Group (led by Hub71+ ClimateTech): Supports startups entering Abu Dhabi’s climate tech ecosystem through tailored funding, mentorship, and partnerships.
- South-to-South Working Group (led by Climate Collective): Strengthens emerging-market entrepreneurship through shared resources, peer exchange, and local deployment support.
These groups generate insights from the ground up ensuring that our broader efforts stay anchored in reality.
Too many impactful technologies go unseen or unsupported.
That’s why we’re building the ClimateTech Federated Search a next-generation digital platform led by Tencent, supported by the Solar Impulse Foundation and other global partners.
It enables:
- Discovery of proven climate innovations
- Informed decision-making for investors, buyers, and regulators
- Cross-regional, multilingual access to real solutions
We help move innovation out of closed databases and into the hands of those who can deploy it.
Financial strategies must respond to what works on the ground.
Led by Tod Hynes (Senior Lecturer, MIT), this pillar uses real case studies and pilots to help shape smarter capital flows.
Through collaboration with academic and industry leaders, we ensure that finance evolves with innovation not behind it.
