On the sidelines of London Climate Action Week, GCFC CEO Mercedes Vela Monserrate joined a high-level conversation at the WiSER x AIWF Conference on how to accelerate effective governance for climate action.

In a Fireside Chat hosted by Terri Weillis , Climate Director of the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF) , Mercedes was in conversation with Dr. Nawal Al-Hosany, the UAE’s Permanent Representative to International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), and Deputy Director at the Emirates Diplomatic Academy.

Together, they explored how institutions and finance must evolve to scale credible solutions. Mercedes emphasized the importance of stronger public-private collaboration, investment discipline, and the long-term financial case for climate resilience.
